What is Copper?




Copper, a chemical element (Cu), is a metal. It belongs to the transition metal family. It's the only metal,other than gold, that has it's natural color. Copper is one of the oldest metals that dates back 10,000 years ago. It has a great heat transfer, therefore, it is used in cooking utensils and supplies. Copper is a very important source of nutrient to plants,animals,and humans. It's found in the bloodstream of humans and animals. Although, too much copper could be toxic or worse it could cause death!

Fun Facts!



  • Statue of Liberty is made of copper, but it's green. why? It was originally copper color, but after the years of water in the air and carbon dioxide it has turned a blue/green color.

  • Copper does not corrode, damage, or rust easily.
